Looking back on all the personal traumas in life. The hardships and the pain. So many people tell you to find the blessing in this heartache. As though it's easy to do when you're wallowing in pain and despair. I hate hearing it. I'm sure we all do.
But then time passes, and the sorrow isn't so raw anymore. It's more like a memory now, and you've had time to reflect on the blessings that were born from those tragedies.
"Find the blessing, Lina. Find the gift"
The voice. I love and hate her.
I sat in my studio, flooded with painful memories but also grateful for the woman that I have become from going through that. Like a caterpillar that's about to transform into a butterfly.
I'll create an art piece about that, I thought. And here she is.
